Behavioural Analytics

Behavioural Analytics

Behavioural analytics is the analysis of actions over time to understand how people or accounts are engaging, what topics they are interested in and which patterns are associated with outcomes such as qualification or opportunity creation.

Behavioural context can be used alongside CRM data to help sales teams interpret recent activity.

From activity data to sales context

A page view or event is behavioural data. Behavioural analytics asks what those actions mean when they are viewed together. For a B2B revenue team, that might mean looking at which contacts are active, which topics an account is researching, how recently activity occurred and whether engagement is increasing or declining.

This is different from relying on a single high-intent action. A pricing-page visit may be useful, but the surrounding pattern can change how it should be interpreted.

How SalesWings uses behavioural data

SalesWings collects first-party website and engagement activity and can associate that history with known Salesforce records when identity is available. That activity can then support scoring, tagging, account-level views and sales context inside Salesforce.

The analytical value comes from connecting behaviour to the CRM record and business outcome. A useful review might ask whether particular activities or sequences are common among qualified leads, opportunities or closed-won customers, then use those findings to improve scoring or prioritization rules.

Behavioural analytics vs web analytics

Web analytics usually focuses on aggregate website performance such as sessions, traffic sources and conversions. Behavioural analytics can work at the lead or account level, where the question is not only how the site performed but what a particular buyer or buying group has been doing.

Limits to keep in mind

Behaviour does not explain intent perfectly. The same action can have different meanings depending on the buyer, account and sales cycle, and anonymous activity should not be treated as identified-person activity until an identity is available. Behavioural analysis is therefore most useful when combined with fit, CRM context and actual revenue outcomes.
