Buying Committee
A buying committee is the group of people involved in evaluating or approving a B2B purchase. Different members may influence the decision for different reasons, such as business value, technical fit, security, procurement or budget.

Why account-level visibility matters
One active contact does not necessarily represent the whole buying process. In a larger B2B deal, several people may research independently, join at different stages or care about different parts of the product. Looking only at the most visible contact can hide broader account momentum.
What to look for across the committee
Useful context can include which contacts are active, what topics they are viewing, whether new people have appeared, how recently each person engaged and whether activity is concentrated around one individual or spread across the account.
SalesWings can aggregate behavioural context at account level in Salesforce, making it easier to see which contacts are contributing to current engagement.
Buying committee roles are not always known upfront
CRM contact roles and qualification conversations can help identify champions, economic buyers, technical evaluators and other stakeholders, but behavioural data should not be used to infer authority that has not actually been established. Activity shows engagement; it does not prove decision power.
Buying committee vs account score
The buying committee is the people involved in the decision. An account score is a calculated summary of selected fit and engagement signals across the company. The score can help prioritise the account, while the committee view helps explain who is active and how the buying process may be developing.
