Account Prioritization
Account prioritisation is the process of deciding which companies a sales or marketing team should focus on first. It usually combines account fit with current activity and commercial context rather than relying on a static target-account list.
Why fit alone is not enough
A company can be an excellent ICP match and still show no current interest. Another account may be slightly less ideal on paper but have several known contacts actively researching the product. Prioritisation is the decision layer that weighs those factors and determines where limited sales attention should go.
Account score vs account prioritisation
An account score is one input into prioritisation. The final order may also consider recency, opportunity status, account ownership, strategic importance, deal potential or whether several stakeholders are active at once.
Use the underlying activity, not just the rank
A ranked list is useful for deciding where to start, but reps still need context before reaching out. SalesWings can surface account-level activity and scoring in Salesforce so the rep can see why the account has moved up the priority list and which contacts or topics are driving that change.
Priorities should change as buyers change
A static quarterly target-account list cannot reflect new activity as it happens. Behavioural signals can help move previously quiet accounts up the list when interest increases and reduce the prominence of accounts whose activity has gone stale. The appropriate timing depends on the sales cycle and the signals being used.
